ISO 9001 & 14001

Our production sites are ISO 9001 & 14001 certified. Our secondary processing facilities are also ISO 9001 certified, which guarantees only the highest quality products and services.

ISO 45001 certification

Since the safety and well-being of our employees is one of our top priorities, we have also implemented ISO 45001 certification at a number of our sites.

Quality management

All group entities are ISO 9001 certified, and we ensure the continuous improvement of our quality systems through internal audits, certification audits and audits conducted by our own customers. As such, the majority of our production sites are SNCF and/or Infrabel certified


Our teams are dedicated to effective quality management and continuous improvement, and we enforce all of our procedures to ensure that you are completely satisfied with our products and services.


Quality management begins as soon as we analyse your request, with a precise targeting of your needs and requirements. This information is integrated into our sales offer, and is monitored throughout the production chain right up to the delivery of the final product.

Safety and protection of personnel

The safety of all our employees and contractors is very important to us.
We also study and implement relevant and effective safety guidelines, which we achieve through the following actions:

  • Systematic safety assessments for new investments,
  • Continuous training of our employees on the potential risks associated with their tasks,
  • Monitoring the frequency and severity of accidents/incidents at each production site,
  • Auditing subcontractors, with reports and monitoring of improvements where necessary.

Respecting and protecting the environment

The majority of our production sites are ISO 14001 certified.

It goes without saying that we are in full compliance with the requirements specified in our operating permits and authorisations. We ensure that all our waste and by-products are carefully sorted and appropriately processed, and we strive to minimise waste as much as possible by reusing and recycling materials.

We have invested in state-of-the-art physical-chemical purification facilities to treat all of the water at our various wood impregnation sites.

By developing a Circular Economy approach for the entire railway sector, we are making a positive contribution to reducing the impact of our activities on the environment. For this reason, we have been certified as an approved collector/transporter for all waste collected on public and private networks in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

A collective approach, concrete actions

The Rail Europe Solutions Group structures its CSR approach around five pillars: governance and ethics, environment, social, responsible purchasing and local roots. Steered at Group level and relayed across our sites, it mobilises our teams to improve our practices day after day.

Occupational risk prevention, skills development, inclusion and cooperation with local stakeholders are all part of this approach. We are also strengthening the consideration of social, environmental and ethical criteria in the selection and monitoring of our suppliers.

The EcoVadis assessments of the entities concerned provide an external perspective on our CSR management systems. They help us identify our strengths and areas for improvement in four areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Our approach is based on the involvement of our employees, the monitoring of our actions and continuous improvement.

Decarbonisation

Measure, think together and act

Supported by CO2 Strategy, the Rail Europe Solutions Group is gradually rolling out carbon footprint assessments and decarbonisation plans across its sites. Teams take part in workshops to identify levers for reducing emissions and build actions suited to their activities.

Our actions and work focus in particular on:

  • Reuse and recycling of railway materials: rails, switches and crossings, concrete sleepers and ballast.
  • Changes to concrete formulations, with laboratory tests aimed at reducing the cement content while meeting technical requirements.
  • Modernisation of industrial equipment and optimisation of energy and material consumption.
  • Changes to wood treatments, with the roll-out of Tanasote® to replace creosote at our Mariembourg facility.
  • Optimisation of transport and logistics, by studying solutions suited to flows and delivery constraints.
  • Employee engagement, through awareness-raising on energy sobriety and decarbonisation workshops.

Carbon footprint assessments serve as the basis for setting our priorities and tracking the evolution of our emissions.
